Business Rates is in our DNA, established over 60 years ago for the 1956 Revaluation. Today Altus Group has one of the largest rating teams in the UK, with over 100 staff directly involved in Business Rates, led by a team of 30 Directors across our 10 regional offices, providing local knowledge on a national scale. The average savings we achieve for clients is 16.8%, one of the highest in the industry, highlighting our expertise and in-depth approach.
We work across all main property sectors including office, industrial and retail and offer true sector specific expertise through our dedicated teams, including private healthcare, industrial, golf courses, vehicle manufacturing, trade counters, motor trade, and pharmaceutical/medical to name a few.
Our rating service is much more than just raising appeals - innovation is at the heart of our business model, we invest in the long-term with significant data and analytics.
We believe the service we offer speaks for itself; many clients have retained our services for numerous valuations, going back over 25 years. Additionally, we are the first (and currently only) firm of Chartered Surveyors globally regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Our longstanding experience, core values and truly regional sector specific knowledge makes Altus Group really stand out.
Business Rates is a significant property tax for companies, payable whether your properties are fully occupied, under-utilised or even completely vacant (after short exemption periods). Professional, proactive advice is required to keep this overhead to a minimum.
